I have been hearing this alot! and saw an episode about Black girls on the Tyra Show about how racism is still an issue, who should and shouldn't say the "N" word, and how one girl lied saying that she was half Mexican because she was embarrassed about being full BLACK!!
Here is basically my opinion on this issue...
The Conflict between Light skin girls and Black girls.... Thats something that most black people wont talk about out loud because most of them don't want to admit that it bothers them. In the black community, lighter skinned girls are considered more beautiful, more desired, and just better overall. Black men tend to like them way more because they have the “good hair” the pretty skin and sometimes different colored eyes, but theyre still black. If you listen to rap music you will hear a lot of references to lighter skinned girls, hence the terms “yellow bone” and “red bone”. Example below:

I'm happy and proud to be a black girl with Ugandan blood. I am black, but have been labeled as "an Oreo" a few times. reasons: the first concert i have ever been to was an NSYNC concert, i listen to rock music, i sing rock music, I love white boys, most of my friends are white, I sound like a white girl, i like hollister and abercrombie, (once your black and you walk in, STARES!) my favorite color is green (to bright for a black person to like), i always watched the o.c, etc..the list is endless. Basically be happy for who u are, and never change or feel embarrassed cause of that. You are beautiful, black, white, Mexican, Asian, whatever race you are.
